Wereflamingo's Yuletide Letter for 2024

Dear Yuletide Writer!
Hello! Thank you so much for writing me a thing! I hope you can find something here that you think you'll have fun with, but if not, Optional Details Are Optional and I'd rather read fic you're excited about than something you were bored with or unsure about. These are all very small fandoms, and even just seeing a fic posted that I would never read because of squicks is already really cool just because it's activity! In the fandom! A new fic in the fandom that is for me and avoids my DNWs and that the author enjoyed writing, that'll be a joy no matter what it is. 💜💜💜
And if you do want to write one of my prompts, please don’t think I won’t be happy if you don’t write it exactly the way I suggested it! Even if a prompt is detailed, I’d still love to see a different take on the same general idea. I probably just got carried away in my excitement or was trying to be helpful. And if a prompt isn't detailed, that doesn't mean I'm not excited about it! I haven't had the time to standardize the prompt styles between the different fandoms.
Treats are also very welcome!
(Oct 20th edit: added some smut likes, a couple more prompts for Beauty Newbie, the mini-challenges, and one more line to the paragraph about unrequested characters for Summer Night. No dislikes added, promise!)
Things I like (general):
Comedy; cracky premises treated seriously; AU premises: canon divergence, one difference and its many consequences, setting change with lots of details changed but parallel to canon (it's just so satisfying!); arranged marriage, soulmate AUs, and other predetermined relationship tropes; fics that take canon details and extrapolate things from them that the canon creators didn't necessarily mean to put there; polyamory/consensual non-monogamy in most forms (not swinging, though); aro and aroace characters and relationships; queerplatonic, alterous, or ambiguous relationships; queer friendships; gender identity explorations; neurodivergent characters; characters finding their people; characters finding common ground with people who are not their people; flirting and bantering.
And judging by the prompts I ended up repeating in multiple fandoms, also magic that fits into mundane canons, fics about stories and writing (including fic about fic!), and characters who know they're fictional.
If I mention disliking something in this letter that is not on my DNW list, please just treat that as extra information! They’re not DNWs I forgot, they’re things I don’t generally like that I didn’t want to ban from my gift entirely. And I don’t mean you can only include them if they’re portrayed negatively! You can literally write me a kink fic with a kink I said I didn’t like and I might absolutely love it if it's written in an “X for people who don’t like X” kind of way. Let the character who has the kink bring me around to it for the duration of the fic! Or, if I say I don’t like some heteronormative trope or another, it can still be in the story as something a specific character feels is true for them personally, and that can absolutely be treated neutrally; I just don’t want a story that treats it like it’s definitely right for everyone. These things are much too amorphous to DNW imo, so just use your judgement. I trust you.
Opt-ins: First or second person, poetry, filk, epistolary fic, kidfic, pregnancy
Crossovers or fusions are also fine, except with HP which is in my DNWs. There's a lot of popular media I don't know, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy a crossover or fusion with it if it's self-explanatory. Pacific Rim comes to mind as a world I enjoy fic set in even though I've never watched the movies.
GMMTV crossovers: I assume it's clear, from how I requested 5 different GMMTV series, that I do know many of those... I've at least tried every BL/GL and every non-romance focused show or ensemble show (romance-focused or not) that ran in the last two years, and many from the back-catalogue. I like comedies, so some of the unpopular ones too.
Regarding crossovers inspired by who the characters are played by, I'm not usually super into them. If it's about pairing a character with a character played by the actor's regular/past ship partner, that's really not my thing. If it's about characters played by the same actor being twins/siblings/cousins, I don't usually find that very interesting. Mistaken identity shenanigans and swapping places with no explanation can be pretty fun as crack premises, though. I also really don't mind if you ignore who the characters are played by and include characters played by the same actor with no mention of them looking alike or only mentioning it for a gag about how they don't see the resemblance.
Mini-challenge comments links: Three Turtle Doves, Queering the Tide, TransTide.
I didn't comment on Wrapping Paper because I don't have any art prompts, but I'm not oppose to receiving art treats, except for realistic explicit art for the live action canons.
DNWs:
- Reader insert (my gift being a reader insert, I mean; reader insert fics within the fic are fine)
- Non-Thai AU for a Thai fandom
- Christmas as the major theme/draw of the story
- a Harry Potter AU
- Sex scenes with characters aged under 15, including all types of sex acts (mentions, a couple of vague or summarizing lines, or fade to black are all fine)
- Incest (exception: for The Shipper, if it's not actual incest happening in the actual story, it's fine. I don't mind the bodyswap stuff, and I'd like to see Soda's behavior challenged)
- A fic that is a gender essentialist fantasy, even if the relevant genders are fictional secondary genders (AKA woke omegaverse only, please 😅)
- Characters being secretly evil that were not so in canon or fic from the POV of canonical evil characters
- Explicit gore, torture, or intense violence (mild violence and mentions of canon violence are okay)
- Any mention of physically violent rape
- Descriptions of sex in violent terms even if it's not literal
- Descriptions of wild and uncontrolled penetrative sex
- Consent issues that aren't treated as such (please note that desire does not equal consent)
- Intentional sexual assault that is both real in the world of the story and described in any detail (including if it’s assault because one character is unable to consent due to young age or muddled consciousness)
- Dialogue that constitutes malicious or willfully careless verbal sexual harassment (you can say that it happened or even summarize what was said, but don’t include the actual phrasing)
- Inherently exploitative (big power imbalance) sexual and/or romantic relationships described in detail
- Scat
More about consent issues, just to clarify in case you’re worried or confused:
When I say I want consent issues to be treated as such, I don’t mean that someone in the story necessarily has to directly say with words that it’s not okay! I do like that, but it could also just be comedic unreliable narrator magic that relies on the reader already being aware that it’s not okay, and that would be absolutely fine! And of course, even if you do go the serious conversation route, there’s no need to treat a simple miscommunication as unforgivable (but it's also okay if it's hard to forgive, since that generally depends on levels of trust and personal history).
Examples of what I mean by “desire does not equal consent”: if a character wants something to happen but never communicates it in any way, that doesn’t count as consent. If a character wants something to happen but makes a decision contrary to that desire and communicates that decision, then even if there is evidence of their desire, the character did not consent. An obvious example for that would be being horny and sleepy at the same time and choosing sleep, or refusing to have sex or make out with someone who is in an exclusive relationship with someone else, despite finding them attractive.

I loved this show so much! I didn’t love the last two eps as much as the rest, but they didn’t ruin it for me. This is still a very tight story with (mostly) strongly interwoven relationships and interesting characters. Interesting, but also very much just silly teenagers. Everyone in the group other than Sera will always without fail choose the stupidest course of action possible, and I think that’s hilarious. I don’t necessarily want more lying, forgery, and coverup shenanigans, but I’d love it if you took into account that these are the kids who chose those methods to deal with their problems…
Regarding shipfic about characters that are canonically not interested in each other, I’m not very enthusiastic about it because I’m weird like that about canon, but if that’s what you’ve been itching for, go ahead! Just give me an explanation within the fic for why the character wasn’t interested but now is (or seemed not to be but actually is). Or write it one-sided! Angst is fine, but there’s joy in unreciprocated crushes too. For example, five times Ivy almost died because Star was too cute.
I’d love it if the queer friends gave their queer POV advice even if the main pairing is a het one. I missed it when Lune was being told not to give his time to any other girls (bisexuals shouldn’t give their time to other humans, I guess🙄).
Characters:
White is my favorite in the sense that he is the most likeable one. Who doesn't love a guy who writes "love you all" in the chat? I knew he would come around pretty fast after their falling out, because that's just the kind of guy he is. I would love to see more of him being a loving friend and a standup guy, even if sometimes he gets mad and needs to cool off.
Star is a fascinating complex character. I got so mad at her for that fight with Lune, but it was totally in character for her, and that's impressive writing imo, considering how sweet she is for most of the show. I have a couple of prompts there that might look like I dislike her, but I'm not trying to villainize or bash her, just challenge her bad behavior.
Lune... Well, that "invisibility" thing is pretty odd, so I have a couple of prompts about that that I would love to get fic about. He also has that thing where because of his trauma and low self-esteem, he ends up being self-absorbed. It gets called out like no one else in the series does, so that feels uneven, but it is true. I'd like to see him find the balance between caring about others and standing up for himself. Also, more LuneWhite friendship and how Lune feels about it (both the positives and the trauma response part of it) would be great.
Ivy is really fun. I liked her rough demeanor a lot, and her dynamic with White. I'd love a get together fic for them, or a fic where Ivy mentors White through a bi awakening. Maybe they can challenge the group's heteronormative values together. Or tell me more about her crush on Star! I think Star is adorable so it would be nice to see her through Ivy's lovestruck eyes.
Regarding characters not in the tagset: obviously they're not characters you offered and you don't have to include them even if I suggested it in a prompt. You can also include characters from the tagset that I didn't mention in any prompts, but I will tell you that I'm not that into JewelTan's romance. I don't mind them, but I don't usually find them interesting, especially since they're not part of the main tangle of relationships and crushes. But if you want to incorporate Jewel into scenes from canon he wasn't in, or draw attention to how he's never there even though he and White are besties, I'd probably like that. Also of course for queer solidarity/queer friendship scenes, if you want!
Prompts:
(Change as many details as you want, I'll still be thrilled if you take any inspiration from one of my ideas -- or look in the request on AO3 instead, they're much more summarized there)

About sexual content: I enjoy stories with sexual content in them, including stories that are entirely about sex. That doesn’t refer only to smut for smut’s sake. I like realistic sex scenes, I like curious ace/into it for other reasons sex scenes, I like sex scenes as relationships studies. I like stories that talk about sex without trying to be a sexual experience for the reader, because I just find sex interesting.
Straight-up smut is a little more hit-or-miss for me, but it works better if there is lots of horny inner monologue from the POV character. Also if the story still prioritizes cohesive characters over hotness.
On the other hand, I really appreciate horniness in stories that don’t even have sex scenes in them! Also, I don’t see this a lot, but comedic sex scenes are great, as is making comedy out of a character's horniness.
My squick line on age for actual sex scenes, as you can see in my DNWs, is 15, but age-typical horniness/interest in sex in younger characters is fine.
Other likes in sexual content: friendly sex, non-romantic sexual relationships, toys, praise kink, character fantasies, characters sharing fantasies with each other, lots of dialogue in general, good consent, oral sex (including rimming), comeplay, riding, frotting/tribbing, all forms of long-distance sexual activity, characters masturbating in front of each other, exhibitionist fantasies.
Dislikes in sexual content (not DNWs!): sexual encounters with strangers, daddy kink, piss kink, ageplay, sex as consummation of the relationship, one kind of sex as the kind that "really counts", guilt about having sex, jealousy/possessiveness as a turn-on.

Specific DNW for the fandom, because I know it would make sense: angsty whump with no resolution. Comedic whump might work though!
With these two, I just found them so funny pre-confession! The way they were supposedly just friends, but acted like they were married, and every time they did, Ashi's OST would start playing... And I was so sure we were going to get them acting like that when they're already idols and the fans shipping it, but then we didn't. So, I would love to receive a story where that confession did not happen, regardless of what else happens in it. I'll have some other prompts too, though!

Any and all other characters are welcome, including Jang (including if you're reeeally itching to have him and Payos date, lol), but please do focus on Potae and Payos. You can maybe lean into TaeYosMoo friendship fic or the entire band's dynamics if you don't ship it.
Possible prompts/ideas:
No confession:
- the fans going crazy shipping it, either in regular story form or as an epistolary social media fic. Bonus if Moo ships it too, publicly, and the fans love that too
- or, make comedy out of the fans not noticing even though it's obvious
- the company encouraging the shipping and Moo getting mad at the hypocrisy
- the company getting them to fake-date as a result of the shipping, thereby making it so much worse
- the fans haven't noticed yet, but Jang has, so he tells them to tone it down because they're being too obvious. Cue Tae having a crisis about realizing they really are like that, or about missing the closeness more than he thought he would when they do tone it down. Or, cue comedic confusion on Tae's part about why he can't do some things anymore, because isn't that normal???
Yes confession/general:
- Crack prompt: Ashi's OST starts playing in-universe every time Potae does something very boyfriend-y, and they can't figure out where it's coming from???
- Potae having a competence kink which clashes horribly with his tendency for jealousy when Payos does better than him
- drifting apart that badly before getting together seems like it would cause some relationship problems. The way their friendship was uneven before the confession probably would too, if they returned to old habits. So how does that go? And do they break up? Can they at least fix their friendship if they do break up? I would really like it if they did. And if they did, would that actually be the missing piece that they needed to try again?
- canon divergence: Tae and Yos get closer again while trying to help a depressed Moo (I'm a little sad that the whole thing messed up Moo and Yos's friendship too)
- Does Payos have functional parents? Are they aware of how close they are and how much Payos takes care of Potae? Are they worried they're too young for it, or that it's too one-sided?
Also, not a prompt, but I welcome any and all thirsty inner monologue from Payos about Potae. 😅
Preferably with the glasses still around, because he's not nearly as hot without them.

Fandom specific DNW: bashing of Pan and Soda's super-girly gender expression, them being ashamed of it, or realizing it was fake the whole time (growing out of it but still having warm memories of it is fine)
I really love this show as a story about two teenage girls who are quite immature compared to their classmates, and their friendship and creativity. I like how they’re very horny but also not really all that ready for relationships or sex (or at least Pan isn’t, lol). I definitely do think that writing ship fic about people you know is very dicey, and certainly not a healthy hobby, but that’s the point. They’re immature and they do immature things, and that's interesting and fun in fiction. I love fic about fic!

Please do include both characters, but it's okay if one is more of a supporting character to the other.
If you like him, Khet is also quite welcome in the story, even with significant focus, as a friend, a boyfriend, or a boyfriend and metamour in a poly thing. Any other characters are fine too, as long as Pan and Soda are both there and at least one of them is the focus.
I'm interested in Pan/Soda shipfic because their writing is literally sexual roleplay between them, but the tension between that and how Pan does not seem to be attracted to Soda as herself is interesting too. So, if Pan is/becomes interested or not is your call. Also, feel free to take a shippy prompt into crackfic territory!
And if they don't end up together, maybe give Soda a girlfriend rather than a boyfriend?
Possible prompts:
- Something about Soda and bisexual identity
- Soda trying to play the gentleman because she thinks the reason Pan is not into her is that she wants to be pursued
- Some exploration of gender identity as a result of the bodyswap (without bashing the girliness! Pan can be a girly boy or enby or develop a wider range of expression)
- Some exploration of why Pan still prefers the shipping to her own relationship
- On the same subject, Pan and Soda turn to femmeslash as a way to inch closer to seeing themselves in the stories
- Or, they didn't mean to and get carried away and are surprised when their roleplayesque writing starts feeling like actually doing a sexual thing together
- Khet participating in the writing for non-disruptive reasons, whether it's the memorial fic or as a couple activity as a safe way to express attraction
- Khet is jealous of Soda and constantly fighting with her, so she doubles down and flirts with Pan on purpose.
- Soda learns to be better about consent (please!!)
- Pan and Soda dating and being horny about each other but not telling each other because that would be too real (does it change anything about their writing?)

Fandom specific DNW: Jean dating a girl or attracted only to girls
This is the last fandom I'm adding to the letter and I'm quite tired now, but make no mistake, I love this fandom. I write in this fandom, actively. I'm salty about the direction the series went in, but I'm still obsessed with the characters. The student characters, specifically, so while you're more than welcome to combine the character(s) you choose to write about with characters not from the tagset, I hope any characters that get major focus will be student characters or the focus will be on interacting with the students.
The way I see it, the series was posing the question of how far is it okay to go to teach a lesson, but then instead of answering that question in any way, it just gave us a big bad instead. It's his fault it went too far, you see. Was all of the abuse because of him? None of it was in the original courses? I doubt it. But the teachers that are not cartoon villains never get a reckoning for it. So, if you want to touch on this, that could be cool for more of an ensemble fic.

Listen, I would love some poly fic for this. Guy and Saint have excellent banter and I want to see them together and I want Liu to be a part of it. I love the love rivals-to-lovers trope and I'd love to see it for them. Maybe adversarial metamours-to-lovers? I do love their bickering. In general I find the two of them very funny together.
Or if you don't want poly, maybe Guy and Liu's relationship has run its course and they're close friends now but no longer a couple, and Saint, who stayed close to them through all of it, already trained himself to get over Liu, but never trained himself out of that banter with Guy. Maybe Liu is now exploring her fascination with beautiful women instead…
If you don't want GuySaint to be a thing, I would really enjoy a fic about how people think they're a thing even though they aren't. Like, “which one of them are you dating again?” Maybe people are just as confused about which one of them Liu is dating. Maybe it's because Saint is their queerplatonic third, whether that's something they figure out in the fic or not.
More possible prompts:
- Guy finally submitting to Saint's ongoing attempts to adopt him (might be extra fun if this happens even though Liu dumped him and is now dating Saint)
- Guy and Liu are fighting and Saint stays out of it because it's not his relationship, until he realizes that it is his relationship, because without any of them noticing they ended up in a half-queerplatonic triad, and him staying out of it made the fight worse because both Liu and Guy feel abandoned without his support.
- Or, make Guy the queerplatonic partner! Maybe Liu broke up with him because there was no passion, and she found passion with Saint, and she and Guy are still very close, supposedly as good friends, but then they realize that in many ways they're still together. Maybe this one is a V and not a triad, or maybe Guy gets like that with Saint too
- Considering how the series showed us Saint being attracted to Liu, it seems like he likes smiling happy people. Guy is always grumpy with him. How does he feel the first time he sees Guy happy?
- Saint teaching Guy and Liu some social skills. Maybe even on the example of Faye, if you're willing to write her, because she may use them to manipulate, but she has some excellent social skills. It's great that we saw her learn the ones she lacked, in making true friends, but what about using the ones she already had for good? Saint clocked her with far less evidence than Guy had, so I think Saint should be able to explain her actions to Liu
- Saint being angsty about being Liu's secondary and not main partner, even though he pretends to be okay with it: listen, I can really see Liu being hierarchical about it and it wouldn't even matter if she chose to drop the hierarchy officially because she'd still probably feel the same. For a possible happy ending, probably more time spent together all three of them would help?
- Guy and Saint as metamours competing sexually, preferably as part of a threesome but possibly just talking about it. Either way, I'm hoping for something comedic out of this even if it's also sexy.
- Some kind of crack canon divergence where Guy and Saint bicker through dealing with something completely unreasonable (aliens?) and Liu thinks it's adorable how well they get along

Characters:
Jean is my blorbo/muse and I would love to see someone else's take on him. He's somehow both a bully and a protector of the weak (by way of arson???), he wants everyone out of his business, he's a sarcastic asshole and has this annoying fake smile, but sometimes it seems like he's actually trying to be charming for real? His brain-washed self is not that different from his sarcastic self, which seems pretty worrying. Also, dramatic af, sitting by the trash because his dad called him trash.
He's also an audacious gay who points out cute boys to kids he's just met! There's no way he's talking about cookies there. They never did anything with it after that, but they also never contradicted it either, which they easily could have, with Biw showing interest. I'm leaving it at at least bi, though, to accommodate for masochistic reactions to Fuji kicking him in the nuts. 😅

Tibet grew on me while I was writing JeanTibet fic... His personality is not as flashy, but he's a very cohesive character. I see him as a caretaker, as too trusting of adults, as someone who really wants to be good, but also has some violence in him. I worried about him a lot as I watched, because he seemed so vulnerable to the masters' manipulations while also being willing to use violence to protect others. And indeed, he was the one they chose for whatever assassination mission it was that they ended up scrapping from the story. You can write about that, but keep it vague as to who the target is, because I think they scrapped it for a reason. Run might be relevant to the story if you go that way.
It's also okay if you want to write about his grief.
It's also okay if you want to write about his grief.
White is fierce, with a strong sense of justice that I relate to, but also very practical. She knows when to cooperate. In a way, I think she's the most adaptable of all of them, and most of all I want to see her being a leader. But also, seeing her with her friends would be good, or making amends with kids she hasn't been getting along with. That one might be a bit difficult for her, actually, since she tends to say what she thinks and hang on to preconceptions of people and fairness, but it is necessary for leadership, so maybe she should learn. Maki could help, or Tibet. Pennueng, maybe, since he's so forgiving and he's going to have his own point of view. Also I think both Jingjai and Jean would love to make up with her if she made a gesture of good will. In my most out there fantasy, I want to see her and Jean as a leadership team (she's in charge, though!)
Pennueng breaks my heart because he's actually happy in that shithole, because he met some kids there who like him and meet him where he is. I love how he can be a little shit sometimes, like when he taunted Hugo and Jingjai for failing the test, or when he said he'd take the croissants back when his group wondered why that was the only food he saved. I also liked when he said the most attractive person is the one who likes croissants, and said it the same for girls and boys. He's pan! :D
I don't really want to see Pennueng dating yet, but flirting is good! Actually, it would be fun to see how he flirts when he's not that shy about it (so probably when he doesn't have too big a crush on the person).
More possible prompts:

More possible prompts:
- Since I kept calling Home School "evil Summerhill" while watcing... AU where instead of evil cult school, Home School is an open or democratic school. The students of course still have a hard time adjusting, and classes are of course still very weird. Other than the lack of evilness, an obvious thing that would be different is that it would be a multi-age school, so your choice if you want to add characters to be older students or change the existing characters to be different ages and make it the school’s first year (maybe most of them would be in the tenth grade with just a few older kids, since kids don't transfer as much in the middle of high school as they do between middle school and high school).
- Anything about the different subgroups of students integrating and working together against the abuse (but the same after it's all over would also be good)
- After it's all over, someone points out that the "nice" teachers also abused them, and that they're still in the middle of nowhere with no one to turn to and nowhere to run if the school hurts them again
- Voting for a class president of their own choice after it's all over
- The students find out Maki has her own agenda that clashes with the interests of the rest of the students and are angry about it. Do they elect a shadow class president? Are White and Nai upset that Maki and Tibet didn't tell them?
- Reconciliation between students who were at odds. Jean and White, Jean and Maki, White and Jingjai. Hugo and any of the nominated characters (+Maki maybe), but that one's difficult.
- White attempting to give Tibet the shovel talk about Maki. Bonus if she asks him if he's not going to give her one for Nai, and he says something along the lines of nah, good riddance. Extra bonus if Tibet calls her out for having feelings for Maki, and White calls him out about Nai, and all of it ends with a sedoretu square for the OT4. I like the idea that they leave everyone else out not because they're not really friends with them, but because their feelings for each other are more than friendly.

- Jean and Pennueng making friends after episode 9. Also, Jean clocking Pennueng as queer and using light flirting to be friendly. Maybe Jean discovering how Pennueng can be a little shit and interacting with that.
- White and/or Tibet interacting with Pennueng without Maki or Nai, because I feel like they're closer and more directly friends with him, while both Maki and Nai interact with him from a leadership position
- Jean and smoking/withdrawal (Hugo too, if you want)
- Jean making friends with someone unexpected and others being surprised about it
- Something organized around who trusts adults (in general, not the masters at their worst) and who doesn't: Tibet yes, the twins tragically so, White, Jean and Fuji no, Biw no but pretending that she does because she doesn't want to rock the boat, Hugo just seeing himself as an adult... However you see it. If you disagree, just yes and it: X does trust adults somewhat, but also doesn't because [your thesis] (or vice versa)

- Tibet and compulsive caretaking
- Two JeanTibet options that go with the premise that they hooked before Jean bullied Pennueng, but go in different directions to where I took it after that: Tibet is upset about Pennueng, but he tells himself maybe he can get Jean to behave if he keeps hooking up with him. Or the opposite, Jean purposefully using Tibet as a moral compass/guilt absolution and Tibet realizing and getting mad about it.

There are three things that make me go back to Superstition again and again and randomly think up prompts:
1) The way Luc is: aro, poly, makes good friends with his hookups, probably autistic, loves his husband so so much
1) The way Luc is: aro, poly, makes good friends with his hookups, probably autistic, loves his husband so so much
2) How married they act from a very young age
3) Jacks and his angst and the fucked up idea he has that he only exists in relation to Luc, which is technically true, because he is a fictional character who is not the protagonist of his story, and also could be true within the story because nothing in it contradicts the existence of magic!
I relate to Luc so much, but the more I go back, the more I become fascinated with Jacks. And we only have Other People from his POV out of the main canon!
All characters in the series are welcome.
Possible prompts (summarized):- An AU in which Jacks really was given to Luc in some way (so he can play hockey or just in general). He can be a special order Android, a noble companion to a prince, some kind of non-human creature that is bound to Luc or was created by his wish, just a kid who wasn't even into hockey before the magic caught him, or maybe it's just a soulmate AU. Whatever you come up with. (Relevant canon: Superstition, optionally Other People)
- Luc totally can produce gatorades out of thin air. How does it work? Who knows about it? Why are they hiding it? Does Luc really not notice, or is he just pretending? What other magic is real? (Relevant canon: the main series + A Cure for Anything)
- Luc and Jacks as awkward child fiances in a royalty AU or as soulmates who found each other much too early (awkward meaning everyone thinks the situation is awkward and not age appropriate and should not be happening, but it's happening anyway) (Canon: Superstition, optionally Other People)
- A different way they could have ended up in a sexual situation together for the first time, and the ways it goes very similarly to canon despite the different circumstances (this could be earlier than in canon, or the canonical first time could not happen and whatever you write about happens later instead, or maybe it's entirely AU and that's why it's different) (Canon: Superstition/Other People)
- Jacks knows he is fictional and his place in the story and that's why it's true that he was literally given to Luc so he can play hockey and doesn't have an existence of his own. Also possibly he gains the power to rewrite his life, since he's a writer. Or maybe that's how he's so good at writing, because of his lived experience as a supporting character in someone else's story. (Canon: Other People, the main series (especially Breakaway), Kinktober 2019 Tentacles/Sex Toys for the writing career part)
- Actually, no AU necessary, just the way Jacks learns story structure from his incredible life (also possibly from hockey media and its narratives) (same canons as previous)
- Jacks writing arranged marriage or other fanfiction about him and Luc early on, maybe disguised as fiction fanfic at first, then openly about them when other people start posting fic about them (you can go as inappropriate/creepy as you want with what he writes, unless it's in my DNWs as something not to mention) (Canon: Other People, Deke)
- Something about the books Jacks writes. Does he later write other series than the slutty space captain one? What are they about? In what ways are they inspired by his life? Or what are some specific plots in the slutty space captain series and how are those inspired by their life? (Canon: Kinktober 2019 Tentacles/Sex Toys)
- Fans clocking that the slutty space captain is Luc and writing fanworks about it. Or academic papers, lol. (Same canon as previous)
- Something about Luc’s gender or lack thereof. His bro-ism is so put-on that it makes me think he might not have a gender. (Canon: main series, potentially anything else he's in)
- A JCT parenting story (can be parenting young or adult children, doesn't matter. Also rookies) (Canon: Pee-Wee League and later)

Prompts:
(Change as many details as you want, I'll still be thrilled if you take any inspiration from one of my ideas -- or look in the request on AO3 instead, they're much more summarized there)
1) White having a bi/pan/whatever awakening:
Look at how differently he and Lune treat that pratfall kiss! Clearly, White is into it, but he always seems to be making a joke of it. How does he figure out it’s real? How does he deal with being into both Star and Lune? Does he talk to Ivy about it? Does that end with WhiteIvy getting together as the bi4bi couple of my dreams with lots of matching masc couple outfits (did you notice how they’re dressed the same on their vacation?)?
I’m not that enthusiastic about WhiteLune actually working out because Lune doesn’t seem interested, but if that’s what you’re here for… maybe Lune just didn’t realize they weren’t just jokes and when he does realize he questions his sexuality for the first time? Or maybe he already knew and that’s why he was annoyed about White joking about it? He already has experience with being bullied for liking the wrong person… Go ahead and convince me! Especially if Star is also still in the picture and it leads to her making the discovery that you can like more than one person (I don’t like jealousy so I don’t mind so much if you ignore that part of canon, lol).
2) The whole mess of canon (or a subset of the whole mess), but with polyamory:
I think it might work best with an AU where poly is the default in society, either since forever or as a result of some kind of media/celebrity trend. What if Star not being into White was unrelated to her liking Lune? Or, what if she was okay with kind of giving it a chance with White, but he’s frustrated because she’s so much more into Lune than she is into him? Would Nana liking him be a comfort? Maybe not, if she was still that creepy about it, but would she be? What if Lune still didn’t want to be in a relationship with Sera even though they were all poly? Star would for sure still be jealous, since her jealousy is not really jealousy but rather the feeling that she’s replaceable.
What if IvyWhite made some kind of pact to help each other pursue Star and got together as a result of that, or got together and then tried to pursue Star? Maybe it even works, maybe what star needed to make her interested in Ivy is seeing Ivy with someone? I know Thai teenagers don’t just make out in front of each other, but maybe they got drunk and took that as an excuse? Also, White freaking out about LuneStar being super hot together! Just in general, or in their drunk makeout orgy scenario. They try to get Star’s attention but it backfires. Maybe that’s their get-together story… 😅
3) A magic-verse fic that is not even necessarily an AU because it fits perfectly into canon:
How is it possible that Lune is invisible when he’s super pretty and tall? Magic. He wants to hide and, either on purpose or not, becomes magically invisible. How was White able to change that? Also magic! Star’s, probably, because she made White himself popular, so maybe that’s a magical ability she has. Or a curse, because she wanted Lune to herself as a super special secret boyfriend only she was smart enough to discover, but her hanging around him made him magically popular so now everyone else likes him too! Star and Sera liking the exact same things also seems like some kind of magic to me. Maybe also Star’s! Maybe she’s full of popularity/trendsetter curses. But at least it helps with her fashion dreams?
Maybe there’s more, or maybe Lune and Star are the only magical ones and they have opposite magic, which is a super cool way to make the relationship just as special as Star wants it to be. Maybe the reason everyone is in love with her is magic! I know she’s adorable, but what if? Ivy probably knows all about the magic and manages it for Star.
Also, if you do want it to be AU, that’s fine too. Maybe they could be some kind of non-human magical beings, or just humans with magic that others are jealous of, or maybe all humans have magic in this AU.
4) Something about it being a fictional universe with fictional universe rules:
This might combine well with the previous prompt! Lune wasn’t supposed to be a protagonist, he’s supposed to just be just another nameless student to fill in the background. That’s why he’s “a nobody”. Maybe he was a protagonist in his previous school and he didn’t like it, and he’s determined to never be a protagonist again. This can probably serve as a metaphor for depression, now that I think about it. Or maybe it’s not Lune’s previous school, but rather his previous story! He somehow managed to cross into a different story, and is very surprised when Sera also appears in it. Maybe Sera doesn’t really travel abroad like she says, but rather to different stories! Or she has some kind of curse as well that throws her into different stories, and that’s why she never has friends or storylines.
White is clearly a protagonist. He’s the linchpin of the group, he has a classic redemption by love arc pre-canon, he thought making a grand gesture for Star would make sense… He was the protagonist and it felt so natural to him he never even questioned it. When he brings Lune into the group, he doesn’t think it would mess with story rules or his protagonist spot. Maybe he doesn’t know the story rules. Maybe the protagonist never does, until someone tells them. Star is the protagonist who doesn’t want to be a protagonist, or maybe the main love interest who rebels against her role, which is why she’s thrilled when White introduces her to a background character.
5) A canon divergence AU focusing on Star healing from her issues about her mom (which are the source of her jealousy imo):
The way I see it, Star is messed up because her mom doesn’t see her as her own person and doesn’t accept her having her own interests, so Star tries to conform to her expectations (and of the kids at school), which is exhausting and upsetting, but she takes comfort in still secretly having the things she wants for herself. That’s what she shares with Lune. The things that make her special and not just because she can perform an extra perfect version of normal. White likes her for that extra perfect version of normal, because that’s what she showed him to convince him to get his act together. She used the mask. But with Lune, they’re being a super quirky secret hipster couple who have things in common no one knows about. That’s a balm to her sense of self, which is why she’s so upset that not only do other people like him, but Sera liked him first. And Star’s preferences are not special, because someone else shares them! She’s so pleased to meet someone she can relate to so well, but it also upsets her because she can’t stand not being special. I’d love to get a fic that focuses on that duality of her feelings about Sera!
In general, I would like a slower resolution with Star’s mom, which would heal that need to be super special, which in turn would bring Star back to Lune, rather than Lune chasing her to apologize. Or, if Lune chases her, he focuses on fulfilling her emotional needs rather than apologizing. It’s not that he has nothing at all to apologize for, but when someone pulls what Star pulled, you do not apologize to them before you get some concessions, if not an apology. I know the Thai view on it is different and an apology is just a reconciliation attempt, but I did not want them to reconcile so fast. Star being pissy about Lune loving other people (because guess what, it’s normal to love your friends) is almost definitely related to feeling unloved by her mom, but Lune has a good relationship with his dad, so even if he had no friends at all, regardless of gender (hey, what if White was explicitly into Lune and Star was jealous about that too??), she would still not be the entire center of his world.
Also, it would be nice if maybe Sera pointed out to Star the many things they don’t have in common (maybe there’s even more of them than things they do, and it was just a coincidence that one day when they seemed to like all the same things).
6) A fic in which Star did not heal and her relationship with Lune becomes more and more dysfunctional in her favor without either of them realizing it:
What do they do when they realize it? Whichever one of them does, or both. Do they want to fix it? Maybe Lune would rather just break up, or maybe he thinks that would be wrong because he would be running away from his problems. Maybe Star refuses to put in the work to unlearn bad behaviors, because she thinks she doesn’t know how, and things are convenient to her as they are, even though people might tell her it’s not healthy for her either. Maybe one or both of them think Lune can fix it on his own by learning to stand up for himself and set boundaries. Or maybe Lune doesn’t do that at all and that’s a problem. Do their friends try to help?
I’m not looking for evil mastermind manipulator Star here, that’s on my DNWs for a reason. I want her to not realize she’s doing it until she’s confronted with it. Or likely quite a while after she’s confronted with it…
7) Star and Lune having a more gradual approach to having sex for the first time:
Let's start with having horny makeouts without Star getting scared of Lune's desire... No, let's start with them both admitting that they've thought about it, and what they thought about. The transition from "gotta pretend like I don't want sex" to "this is something that is okay between us" takes some time. How does it go for them?
