Dear Yuletide writer,

Hello! Thank you for planning/considering writing a thing for me! If you are my assigned writer, I hope you find something here that inspires you, but if not, remember that Optional Details Are Optional and I requested these fandoms and characters because I wanted to read about them. Write something that makes you happy and I'll be happy too.

Treats are also welcome! Including Madness treats for fandoms I didn't request this time, even if they were in the tagset. Yes, that's allowed, as long as it's for a small fandom and you post it to the madness collection and not the main one. There's almost nothing in this blog but Yuletide letters, and there is no fandom I requested in the past that I don't like anymore. Do refer to this year's letter for DNWs and other non-fandom specific info, though.

Things I like: Comedy; cracky premises treated seriously; AU premises: canon divergence, one difference and its many consequences, setting change with lots of details changed but parallel to canon (it's just so satisfying!); arranged marriage, soulmate AUs, and other predetermined relationship tropes; fics that take canon details and extrapolate things from them that the canon creators didn't necessarily mean to put there, but it's still based in canon; magic that fits into mundane canons; fics about stories and writing, including fic about fic and characters who know they're fictional; polyamory/consensual non-monogamy in most forms (not swinging, though); aro and aroace characters and relationships; queerplatonic, alterous, or ambiguous relationships; queer friendships; gender identity explorations; neurodivergent characters; characters finding their people; characters finding common ground with people who are not their people; flirting and bantering; not necessarily sexy sex scenes: realistic sex scenes, sex scenes as relationship studies, comedic sex scenes; horniness even in stories with no sex scenes in them, and horniness played for comedy; friendly sex and non-romantic sexual relationships; toys; character fantasies and characters sharing fantasies with each other; lots of dialogue in general, and/or horny inner monologue; good consent; oral sex (including rimming); comeplay; frotting/tribbing; all forms of long-distance sexual activity.

Hard DNWs: Non-Thai AU for a Thai fandom; HP AU; explicit sex scenes with characters aged under 15, including all types of sex acts; incest; gender essentialism or gender roles as a kink; power imbalance as a kink of the story (as in, a story for people who have a power imbalance kink; if the characters have a power imbalance kink that's fine and sometimes even specifically prompted, I just need that extra degree of separation), unaddressed power imbalance in a romance; explicit gore, torture, or intense violence (mild violence and mentions or discussions of canon violence are okay); physically violent rape, violent language around sex even if it's figurative, wild and uncontrolled penetrative sex; behavior that would constitute consent issues irl that isn't treated as such by the story (if it's a fantasy or story within the story, that's fine); sexual violence/harassment as a plot device; darkfic (yes, this is technically vague, but I'm confident that a writer who doesn't think of it as darkfic would not write something I hate, so if it's too vague for you just dw about it)

Note: I removed some of the DNWs from the sign-up for High School Frenemy specifically, which were iirc darkfic, consent issues, and the age squick line for explicit sex scenes. Best read that one off the request on AO3, just so you don't get confused.

Things I dislike but are not DNWs (which I could enjoy as "X for people who don't like X", or as something specific to the characters/situation, or just something that happens that the story doesn't expect me to see as a positive): sex as consummation of the relationship, one kind of sex as the kind that "really counts", love triangles better solved by polyamory, surprise kisses as an alternative to confession, jealousy/possessiveness as a turn-on, sex negativity, amatonormativity, relationships only counting if they're "official", daddy kink and similar age play, sexual encounters with strangers.
 

Opt-ins: First or second person, filk, epistolary fic, kidfic, pregnancy, non text-based treats,
Crossovers and fusions are also fine, except for HP which is on my DNW list, but I'm not too enthusiastic about crossovers that are motivated by who the characters are played by. I'm more interested in which characters should meet each other, or would be interesting to see in another work's world.

It's okay if one of the characters is only in the story in the other character's thoughts, if the story is significantly focused on those thoughts.

 

I was going to just request Victor because he's my favorite, but then I realized my favorite thing about him is the somewhat delusional joy he gets from his crush on Trin, so I shouldn't inflict my request on someone who didn't sign up to write Trin. I didn't request them both because I want to see them together as a couple, I enjoy them just as they are.

 

(or were, but I doubt they get together in the ep and a half I have left to watch. Idk what's going to happen with that death flag that's been there the whole time, but you can always set it before, or go for eulogies, or if that's what you want, go for eulogies regardless of what canon does)

I would like a story about any two of them, or all three. It's also fine if it's just one character thinking about one or both of the others.

 

I think May is kind of terrible, and I find that fascinating. I would love an AU that is some version of "what if May wasn't super self absorbed when making this one specific decision she was terrible about in canon". I would also enjoy an AU where there is no twin, but rather Oom has depression and loses the confidence that inspired May, so May has to inspire her back. Or, maybe they're parallel universe versions of each other, or alters who do or do not know about each other, your choice. The caretaker and the perfect child definitely feel like they could be alters.

A relationships study of the twins' relationship would also be very welcome. The grandmother can definitely also be in the story, even as a major character.

 

As per my DNW list, please no incest. Random teenage inappropriateness is fine, if you think it fits, but not actual incest.

 

As for canon-typical dubcon due to identity shenanigans (though I guess in the end it wasn't really that), depicting it is fine, but know that I will cringe at it. Or if May is stretching boundaries, I'll find it creepy. I'm okay with cringing and/or being creeped out by fiction, but it would be very jarring if I suddenly realized that the story expects me not to, which is why I'm letting you know.

I would love something horny about these two, because I didn't like how the excellent sexual tension with the food metaphors resolved in such a boring way. The series built them up as horny and then it kind of dissipated. I get that not knowing how being human works can put a damper on things, but it's not like they have to do exactly what humans do. It's not like humans always do the same thing. 

Cute aggression would be fun to see too, or any other outlet Sun can find for his hunger.
Or, maybe something about communication? They're not so good at it, and that's interesting. Sun is so awkward, and Junior is so fun and sassy but sometimes he thinks he's being direct, but he's not.
If you want to include their friends, that's more than okay. If you ship Jodd and Jeng (who doesn't?) and want to write about Junior and Sun "shipping" them too (or Junior shipping and Sun reacting), that would be fun.

Let's have a proper Yuletide revival for this fandom!

I am obsessed with these kids who are completely unreasonable about each other. Early on, I believed Shin's bs and a lot of people blocked me because I pointed out Saint being a very scary red flag (someone who get physically violent when they think you're trying to leave? very dangerous). Turns out they're both red flags, and I ship it hard now. I do still see them as toxic and think they could easily become dangerous to each other, but I believe they're so married already that there's no point in trying to stay away, plus it would be better for them to work it out together. In couples therapy. Even if they're not actually a couple. Yet. But if they never call themselves a couple that's fine, I'll just always interpret it as them being queerplatonic and not romantic... Though I kind of see it as Shin being into Saint romantically and Saint have qp feeling about Shin. I would love some fic about the clashes and confusion that creates, and maybe how they make it work anyway.

 

I would go feral for a soulmate AU for them, either the kind where they and everyone else know they're soulmates since childhood (good for making canon events angstier, divorce era school gossip, and platonic vs romantic bond confusion), or the kind where they didn't know and are shocked to find out about it as older teens (what if it's while they're out of contact, if there's a way of knowing that? Like hearing each other's voice in their heads, maybe? Or, how much more intense would meeting again be if they find out just then that they're soulmates?)

 

If you like the toxic angle, know that I don't consider it darkfic if it's this plausible for the characters. You could write about Saint lashing out again when Shin leaves to join a team, or Shin getting dangerously unhinged in his possessiveness. Maybe that's the catalyst for that couples therapy! And, as I said, Saint really scared me, and maybe it could be made more poignant if Shin's mother was a survivor of an attempt on her life by an ex. Maybe Shin doesn't know, and she decides to tell him in hopes it would knock some sense into him. 

 

Or, speaking of Shin's mother, maybe something with Shin asking her if she doesn't miss his and/or Chingching's father, because the way I see it, the reason he doesn't feel like she'd on his side is that she doesn't express any sympathy for him missing Saint. No ones else is on his side because they expect him to forgive and forget, but she's not on his side because she expects him to not even consider reconciliation.

 

If you want something lighter, a couple of obvious tropes that I think are sorely missing in the fandom are dog hybrid fic and puppy play. I'm not that into either of those things in general, but for them I think it could be interesting. If you do puppy play, I would prefer it to be the first time they try it rather than an established part of their relationship/sex life.

And in the same vein, boss/subordinate play, or small difference age play (playing like Saint is a year or two younger). Like, we've seen them play at it in canon, now let's see them play at it in bed.

 

In general I'm much more tolerant of bad consent when it's these guys than in any other fandom. They have no boundaries, and I may not find it hot, but I do find it fascinating. Also I'm sure Shin finds it hot, and I'd read about that too. 

 

More specific prompts:

 

When Saint is begging for reconciliation, Shin becomes obsessed with punishing Saint in a sexy way. He tells himself it's only because he hates Saint so much, or he just finds revenge sexy/is a sadist. Then they have vanilla sex and he's just as obsessed with that.

 

Shin imperiously ordering Saint to take him on a date, and then regretting it because now he doesn't know if Saint actually wanted to.

 

Shin expecting sex with Saint to be perfect, unlike his previous experiences, because Saint is the one he really loves. It isn't.

 

Shin becomes famous. Fans notice Saint being his shadow. Fans write fanfiction/yell about it on social media. Or if you like it better that way, you can make Saint famous too. Budding actor maybe, since he's so expressive and y'know, he looks like Sky. The fans find out they're close and start shipping it. Epistolary fic would be good, but so would an entire in-universe fanfic. Maybe that particular one was written by Shin or Saint...

I still don't have prompts for this or even a proper "why I like this character" manifesto, but I can't bring myself to delete it from my requests, because I love Bua so much. Sitting through the second hand embarrassment of the first episodes was worth it to get to his POV. It hurts so good! I would love to read about his relationship with any or all of the others, or with his family, or the obsessive need for validation. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I would love a character study for this. Ship fic would also be great! I love that BuaBin was endgame.

A story about the relationship between any two of them or all three of them would be fine.
Other characters are welcome, especially MARS members and Baifern. The reason I didn't request Dylan is that I don't want a fic that gives a lot of focus to JunDylan as a ship, but I don't mind them being together or flirting or jealous or whatever in the background. 

 

I like how different Po is with Jun from how he is with Thame. I find it funny. I love Jun being a chaos gremlin and his ridiculous crush on Po. I firmly believe it started because the first time they met, Po laughed at him. I love how Thame is totally clueless about romance but manages to reinvent it all on his own. I wonder when Po figures out how inexperienced Thame is. I don't love how Po applies his pillow princess behavior to all aspects of the relationship, so I would be happy with a story that addresses that as a problem, or a story that just makes him not like that. I did appreciate his pillow princess behavior in the actual love scenes, though, because has absolutely insane facial expressions, and isn't the mark of a good pillow princess? And I love how much Thame and Jun love each other.

I would read ship fic of any combination of them, but it definitely doesn't have to be that. Feel free to look through the thamepo tag on my Thai drama Tumblr for original posts or long tags, there should be some ideas there.

I would like some Palm POV/Palm-centric fic, but Palm is Nueng-centric, so I had to request him too. But if he's only there in Palm's thoughts, that's fine.

 

Any time I remember this show I become obsessed with Palm and his service kink and his romantic streak and how he seems to be normal at first because of his appearance and playing sports and all that, but actually he's quite socially awkward. I would love something that explores the service kink and romantic streak especially. I would also enjoy an AU where that behavior is replicated despite the circumstances being different. 

If you'd rather write a more balanced ship fic, I also really enjoyed Nueng flexing his wealth to flirt with Palm, so that could be fun in the center of a ship fic.
